Matthew Hoh: « Militarism is one of the true religions of the United States »
Matthew Hoh. DR.
Mohsen Abdelmoumen: You are a member of the Center for International Policy. Can you tell us about the missions of this organization and what is its impact on American politics?
Matthew Hoh: The Center for International Policy (CIP) is a think tank located in Washington, DC that was established in the late 1970s chiefly to oppose US military policies in Central America. We still maintain that original purpose, of opposing US militarism, but we also work on issues involving South America, the Middle East, Central Asia and East Asia. We also focus quite a bit on US military spending and the militarism that encompasses all aspects of American policy, culture and society. We are proud to say that our mission is to « advance a sustainable, just and peaceful world. » Lire la suite »
A great man has passed away
The late Professor Edward S. Herman. DR
In tribute to our friend Edward S. Herman who has just died, I republish the interview he had given me:
Professor Edward S. Herman : « The crimes of the United States are never called genocides in West »
Mohsen Abdelmoumen : Algeria, my country, was always for a politics of not intervention in the internal affairs of States. What’s your position about the Syrian’s crisis ?
Edward S. Herman : This is a case of a civil war made into a proxy war of intervention by numerous foreign powers, led by the United States . Saudi Arabia , Israel , Al Qaeda and Russia. Russia ’s is the most defensible intervention as it is largely defending a long-standing ally that is Russia ’s only real friend in the Mediterranean area. The other intervenors are trying to overthrow the government, replace it with a friendly puppet, or destroy it as a viable state that would no longer be a serious rival to Israel . It is a terrible situation for Syrians and the world, with international law in shreds (especially the law against aggression, the heart of the UN charter) and a people being destroyed. Un grand homme nous a quittés
Feu le Professeur Edward S. Herman. DR.
For our friend Hadda Hazem
Journalist Hadda Hazem on hunger strike. DR.
I’ll be back again to assure you of my support as a patriot and as a columnist for the American Herald Tribune newspaper whose columns are open to you. I personally undertake to translate all the texts you want to publish into English. Personally, I know the hunger strikes because I made three of them, and I am still suffering from them until today. I advise you to pay close attention to you. You must drink a lot of water and especially no sugar water, which is very bad for the kidneys. Few people know it. Once again I assure you of all my brotherly and friendly support. Unfortunately, in today’s Algeria, patriots are mistreated while terrorists and mobsters thrive. Good luck, dear friend.
