Ms. Ana Gomes. DR.
Mohsen Abdelmoumen: You sit in the Subcommittee on Security and Defense and in the Special Commission on terrorism in the European Parliament. What do you think of European coordination in the fight against terrorism?
Ana Gomes: It has improved considerably since 2015, particularly since the terrorist attacks in France that hit the Bataclan. It existed before but it is especially since the Bataclan that the information exchange between police and intelligence services has developed. However, there is still a lot to do. The causes of terrorism, including the reasons for radicalization among Europeans, have not yet been sufficiently addressed – and I am not talking only about the Europeans who went to join Daesh in Syria and Iraq, but Europeans who attacked us here at home. Most are our fellow citizens who are born and have radicalized here, and I think that has a lot to do with neoliberal policies that have completely disinvested in social inclusion, especially for young people from immigrant communities, and so it was easier for terrorist groups to recruit unstable people for any reason. Prof. Mebtoul: « Any destabilization of Algeria would have geostrategic repercussions on all the Mediterranean and African space »
Professor Abderrahmane Mebtoul. DR.
Mohsen Abdelmoumen: We are following your work for a long time. For the economist you are, does Algeria respect international commitments?
Prof. Abderrahmane Mebtoul: You are referring to the Association Agreement signed in full sovereignty on September 1, 2015. For Algeria, speaking through the Director-general of economic relations and international cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it is not question of calling into question the general architecture, Europe having acceded to the Algerian demand and agreed to a partial revision of some articles allowing a win/win partnership while underlining for the European part, that the structural reforms for a diversified economy depend first of the Algerian government, in order to benefit from this agreement. Neoconservatives arrayed in their Washington offices are congratulating themselves on their success in using the Charlie Hebdo affair to reunite Europe with Washington’s foreign policy. No more French votes with the Palestinians against the Washington-Israeli position. No more growing European sympathy with the Palestinians. No more growing European opposition to launching new wars in the Middle East. No more calls from the French president to end the sanctions against Russia.
Do the neoconservatives also understand that they have united Europeans with the right-wing anti-immigration political parties? The wave of support for the Charlie Hebdo cartoonists is the wave of Marie Le Pen’s National Front, Nigel Farage’s UK Independence Party, and Germany’s PEGIDA sweeping over Europe. These parties are empowered by the anti-immigration fervor that was orchestrated in order to reunite Europeans with Washington and Israel. Lire la suite »
I have come to the conclusion that the West is a vast lie machine for the secret agendas of vested interests. Consider, for example, the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership and the Transpacific Trade and Investment Partnership.
These so-called “partnerships” are in fact vehicles by which US corporations make themselves immune to the sovereign laws of foreign countries in which they do business. A sovereign country that attempts to enforce its laws against an American corporation can be sued by the corporation for “restraint of trade.” For example, if Monsanto wants to sell GMO seeds in France or US corporations wish to sell genetically-modified foods in France, and France enforces its laws against GMOs, the Transatlantic Trade Partnership allows France to be sued in jurisdictions outside the courts of France for “restraint of trade.” In other words, preventing the entry into France of a prohibited product constitutes restraint of trade. Ukraine and neo-Nazis
Ever since serious protest broke out in Ukraine in February the Western mainstream media, particularly in the United States, has seriously downplayed the fact that the usual suspects – the US/European Union/NATO triumvirate – have been on the same side as the neo-Nazis. In the US it’s been virtually unmentionable. I’m sure that a poll taken in the United States on this issue would reveal near universal ignorance of the numerous neo-Nazi actions, including publicly calling for death to “Russians, Communists and Jews”. But in the past week the dirty little secret has somehow poked its head out from behind the curtain a bit. Lire la suite »

Mohsen Abdelmoumen: You recently sent an open letter to your friend, president Maduro, made public in the press, where you mention the necessity of taking weapons if needed to fight the western plan which aims at a recolonization of the world. Do you believe in the need for global resistance to imperialism and neocolonialism who intensify their aggression ?
Andre Vltchek : Imperialism never disappears; it never leaves peacefully, voluntarily. For all those long centuries, people had to fight for their freedom, for true independence. They had to struggle.
